Message from Founder
To the friends and supporters of Amana orphanage kids care center,
We delighted to update you on the progress of AOKCC during 2010, its 5th year of operation. During this past year, we enrolled more destitute children into the program, increasing their numbers to 33.
Starting from 2005, we have begun to take care orphanage in the wider community in leading better life, thanks to sponsors who are living in home and abroad, enabling our outreach support. Currently we completed phase two of development, which includes possessing land from concerning regional body to construct various fund raising program, Currently in phase two we are looking for potential donors in order to make run our program.
The children’s resilience in the face of grinding poverty and distress, including HIV/AIDS related problems, it is truly remarkable. Their spirit of hope and optimism re-enforces our determination to reach out to more children on the brink and in great need. Our goal is to reach 500 children by 2015. In September 2009, we expect to enroll more children and to continue our community outreach programs to the surrounding communities, especially in respect of HIV/AIDS prevention and training.
We owe much of our progress to the fruitful partnerships with dedicated individuals, businesses men, development organizations and indeed the communities themselves. The board and member of AOKCC are deeply appreciative and grateful to the partners and friends who have chosen to reach out and help make a difference the AOKCC way.
As much progress as we have made, however, AOKCC does not have a secure future without durable child sponsors. We appeal to all friends and supporters, individuals, organizations and businesses men, who have not yet done so, to join AOKCC child sponsorship program and help sustain AOKCC Village. Hope you will find the time to look through the report and to those not sponsoring a child; please consider helping one or two children.
The AOKCC team looks forward to continuing this joint journey of giving back and rediscovering our common good in this inter-dependant and fragile world and for those who are only now learning about AOKCC, we invite you to visit us on the ground or virtually.
Sincerely your
Amana orphanage chief executive committee,
